With manual drafting completed (AutoCADD incomplete), solar/alternative energy knowledge and experience, indigenous building techniques known, etc. (see resume' for details) Sharon got married and moved to Lincoln, NE (May 1993) where she worked for 2 yrs for Manpower in various part-time & full-time positions (factory, food service, clerical, misc.), as well as a long-term position (clerical).
Sharon's PHYSICAL goals were as follows:
Buy land (1 acre or more)
Design a passive solar house with alternative construction (indigenous building methods)
Build and live in the house she designed
Live "off the land" (homestead) as independently as possible - including organic gardening, solar cooking and food drying, canning food, grey-water recycling, composting toilet construction and use, rainwater catchment, alternative heating (woodstove), recycling of all trash (burning refuse), composting, raising small livestock, butchering, meat-curing/smoking, living with no washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, forced air furnace, A/C, and no water heater (unless solar or wood powered), with the exception of electricity (although backups for lighting and other uses were to be available) and water pumping. Transportation via car/truck, phone for communication, and computer use/internet were allowed.
Have children, use cloth diapers (environmental and money-saving purposes), learn to sew (curtains, clothes, diaper-wraps, etc.), and homeschool the kids.
Sharon's MENTAL goals were as follows:
Learn a foreign language (Russian)
Learn to use a computer
Learn to type faster
Write poetry, prose, songs, etc.
Learn and collect information on straw bale construction techniques
Learn and collect information on homesteading/independent living styles and techniques
Sharon's SPIRITUAL goals were as follows:
Read/Learn about Nebraska's local (regional) culture and beliefs/religion
Read/Learn about local historical and paranormal activities, groups, and occurrences
Learn hands-on-healing techniques (therapeutic touch), Reiki, effective prayer techniques
Go to different churches (Christian) and/or do Bible home study
Study "Creation Science" beliefs
Research UFO's, alleged alien abduction, the paranormal, psychic phenomena/telepathy/telekinesis, spiritual gifts, etc.
Study of inter-dimensional beings, the realm of the fae (faeries), and angelic encounters, near death experiences, etc.
May 1993 - Sept 1999
Over the next 6 1/2 years Sharon accomplished ALL of these goals and more, but they occurred in a different way than she expected. One of the driving factors for making homesteading occur naturally was being in a one-income household living on a low pay scale. A family of 5 was supported solely on standard wages by her husband in non-managerial work. Poverty, food stamps, Medicaid, and big events such as the birth of her son Jeremy in 1995, a miscarriage in April of 1996, and the birth of her daughter Kira in June 1997, prior back injuries flaring up, full-body psoriasis emergence, severe stomach attacks, internal marriage pressures, stresses, and strains (severe at times), spiritual attacks and tribulations, paranormal phenomena occurrences, lack of finances to build the house (and subsequent loans), and her good credit being defiled were only part of the hardships encountered and experienced during this time. Through it all, Sharon persevered and finally was "Exodused" out of Nebraska, but not before she experienced and accomplished the following...
In 1993 Sharon put her 6 yr old son in a private Christian school and then homeschooled him the following 2 years before allowing him to go to public school (she also homeschooled her nephew, the neighbors kids, and had her other nephew live with her for a year in the late 90's). In 1994 Sharon took Russian I (language course) at Southeast Comm. College (non-credit), began going to local PSI group meetings, doing haunted building and ghost research (local and historical information for the Lincoln area). She independently studied alternative spiritual beliefs - Celtic, Druidic, Pagan, Wiccan, etc. as well as further studies in Christian (from Fundamentalist to New Age) beliefs and practices, to gain knowledge outside of the basic sects of Christianity. With her best friend living on the 2 acre-split property, they had an inter-dimensional portal (for lack of a better term) experience involving what some refer to as the realm of the fae, in what they called the "Gateway Bridge" experience down the road from the property. Much was learned about the concepts of the 'tween times (aka "twilight zone" or "gray zone" areas, also known as between realms/ dimensions/ realities/ boundary zones) and importance of the solstices and equinoxes. What is considered indigenous sacred knowledge on how to close such "portals" was also learned, as well as Sharon having a dream of the so-called "underworld" which shed away fear from its wake, and led to a deeper understanding of the subconscious side of humanity and all that such beliefs entail. Sharon's goal was not to judge these beliefs, but to explore them. This was her first real jump outside of her enculturation and into a cultural relativistic stance, even though she wouldn't understand that fully until many years later.
By 1995 the only churches Sharon was involved in were of the Christian denomination(s), with some heavy fundamentalist influence in the "young earth" view of Biblical creation, as well as some charismatic influence in spiritual growth, a Baptist church where "water baptism" was believed to be the ONLY way to "heaven" (she did get baptized there, but not carrying the same beliefs as that church), and an intro into a locally acclaimed "cult" where "spiritual gifts" mentioned Biblically were considered "witchcraft," although the group honed in with private and probing personal questions and pre-planned "Bible Studies" into ones life. This is where Sharon saw the duplicitous "other" within the eyes of the pastor of the church (a spiritual seeing), and made a quick exit. Spiritual perception, discernment of spirits (as the saying "the eyes are the windows to the soul" is expressed), and other abilities were re-awakening within and moving her on to higher levels (if one can accept this view of such experiences). An otherwordly vision was seen (called "Akhmah Kaylah"), as well as hypnogogic hallucinations (brain-wave state visions) which occurred after reading a book on mandalas. Most were/are benign although once a face was seen and then she met that very person the following day. Among some of the other experiences in the 1990's included so-called angelic encounters (which caused a Wicca friend/neighbor to change her beliefs overnight), ghost/spirit visitations, a "Jacob" spirit visitation (negative experience overcome and turned positive), prophetic dreams (including one of a friend who died - the dream occurred 4 hrs before her death, with a message to the family/friends Sharon gave at the funeral), UFO sightings (multiple witnesses), alleged alien abduction cases (experienced, witnessed, and discussed with others (in a formal and private "alien abductee support group" setting -- Sharon's first ethnographic research, although without documentation since "whatever happens in the support group, stays in the support group" <wink>)), UFO research and investigations, writing of articles on paranormal events and solar energy or straw bale topics, etc., and webmastering skills (self-taught) for her CEO with Saber Enterprises. She also participated in the hands-on teaching of a straw bale construction class taught by contractor and teacher Dave Carter with Southeast Comm. College.
In the late 90's some additional subjects researched and learned about in independent studies included personality types of humans, differences between men and women, the male and female brain types (hemispheres), gender roles (societal expectations (patriarchal) vs. feminist roles (matriarchal), reverse roles in relationships, heterosexual, homosexual, & bisexual differences, hetero-duplication/transposition roles within homosexual relationships), genetic influences vs. behavioral and environmental influences, etc. NLP (neurolinguistic programming) and brain-wiring, handwriting analysis, and other personality indicator techniques were studied with great success.
By late summer of 1999 Sharon was spiritually stronger, although mentally and emotionally abused (within her so-called "marriage") and a part of her had died (others noticed too). At that time the "Mother side of God" (nurturing sacred feminine) gently coaxed her and then PUSHED her out of Nebraska (a long story), or PULLED her to back to Texas, depending on the perspective. She bought an old car body (sight-unseen) and a motor that was to fit it (sight unseen) and put them together, packed up everything she could fit into it (including her 3 kids), left her husband behind (his choice) and EVERYTHING else (including the house they had built) and drove to El Paso, TX to start anew. The house was sold to friends.
Sept 1999- May 2004
In Nov of 1999 Sharon hosted a week-long conference and workshop event on NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) taught by speaker and CEO (Saber) Derrel Sims, the "Alien Hunter" in El Paso. During this time her then-husband drove to El Paso to stay with her and try again. All UFO/abduction activity stopped by this time although spiritual and other activities continued, in spurts. Sharon would move on to do part-time work as Secretary in her father's office at KBS, as well as continue on with her research and investigations in ufology. Eventually she became Office Manager at KBS, continued webmastering for others and herself, and had moved from "Board Member" of EPSEA to "Vice-President" and finally became the first woman "President" in 2001, and also served as Newsletter Editor and Project Manager in bi-national solar water distillation projects (see resume for details). She also ran the local El Paso Chapter of MUFON (Mutual UFO Network) - without becoming an official "member" as her co-facilitator did instead, from April 2000 - Jan 2002, as well as co-facilitating the El Paso abductee support group meetings (before and after those dates) under the auspices of Saber Enterprises, including Saber alleged alien abductee questionnaires given and collected by Sharon as a "Dream Team" member. On a camping trip in Dec 2001 she declined going outside (in the dark) and sent her 14 yr old son instead where he witnessed what was (with Sharon's nephew also witnessing the scream and ground-pounding event) believed to be a bigfoot walking in the aroyyo. It would have been her own sighting, although this event was the flag to upcoming change, and would be renewed within a year and a half for bigfoot research.
By 2002 Sharon decided she needed to "break" from much of the public-eye activities in ufology and the solar field so stepped down from running meetings and being an active member for any of the associations she was involved in. Instead, she focused on her family, working at KBS full time, and writing her own "how-to" solar booklets which she sells online (she also had received a prophecy saying she had a huge hole in her heart which would heal so completely that not even a scar would remain, and also that she would write, and what she would write would help people - no word was given on what she was to write!). By the end of 2002 her marriage was practically nonexistent as was her interest in the all-encompassing quest for the "truth" in ufological aspects, and depression ensued. At the bottom of her barrel she finally found peace within, and by Jan 2003 she dove into Kabbalistic studies (Jewish Mysticism) and purchased the entire Torah in English/Hebrew.
By May 2003 two things occurred... 1) her husband left the household (separation), and 2) another bigfoot sighting in the area was brought to her attention via an article in the El Paso Times, which she jumped in with both feet to investigate. She contacted the TBRC (Texas Bigfoot Research Center) and was asked to hold the title of West Regional Leader for the TBRC (she accepted). Because of all of the literal F&B (Flesh and Blood) aspects of cryptozoology mixing with paranormal/supernatural and esoteric, symbolic, and other aspects of her research style (Sharon is balanced-brained) she found that the bigfoot research was leading her towards geology and earth studies. She also had a prophetic dream on Oct 4, 2003 (well after her divorce was underway and she planned on dating NO ONE) of meeting a man whose heart emanated the very Spirit of God within him (the husband and lover side of God). By Dec 2003 her divorce was final, and by Jan 2004 she met the man of her dreams (literally) but still took the "watch and wait" stance.
By May of 2004 the powers-that-be set it up (far too much for "coincidence" here - long story) for Sharon and this man (a geologist, Dr. Bruce Cornet) to speak together at a Memorial Day weekend conference located at Area 51, where she spoke about UFO/abduction experiences, the Marfa Lights, and the southwestern Bigfoot which she has coined the "Desert Apes." Her hominoid and ufology research/investigations continued/continues, but only on a part-time basis. Dr. Cornet then moved to El Paso and the rest of her dream has revealed itself in living color. Sharon and Bruce got married on June 5th, 2006. Bruce encouraged/supported Sharon's renewed goal to return to college and obtain her degree(s).
